# LendRight — Loan agreements for family and friends

**Lend money to people you love — without losing the relationship.**

LendRight turns an awkward favour into a clear, written agreement that both
people e-sign from their phones in about four minutes. Free for the lender to
draft.

## What LendRight does

- Guides you through a plain-language loan agreement, step by step.
- Builds the agreement on Canadian law and checks it against your province's rules.
- Lets both parties e-sign digitally — legally recognized federally and in every Canadian province.
- Produces a locked PDF plus a tamper-evident signing certificate with timestamps.

## Pricing

- **Draft:** Free. Guided drafting with province compliance checks.
- **Finalise:** One-time **$29 CAD** per agreement. Both parties e-sign; you get
a locked PDF and a signing certificate. The person creating the agreement
chooses who pays the $29 — themselves or the other party; the fee is the
  same either way.

## Common questions

**Is an online signature actually legal in Canada?**
Yes. E-signatures are recognized federally and in every province for ordinary
contracts like loan agreements. What makes one hold up is the proof around it:
timestamps and evidence the document wasn't altered — which the signing
certificate provides.

**Will a loan agreement hold up if they don't pay?**
An agreement can't force payment, but it removes the "I thought it was a gift"
escape hatch. In small claims court a signed agreement with a verified signing
record is strong evidence, and most provinces let you file without a lawyer.

**Is LendRight legal advice?**
No. LendRight is a self-help document tool. You make every decision; the
software assembles standardized agreement language and checks it against the
Canadian rules supported in-product. For complicated situations, talk to a lawyer.

**Can I charge interest on a loan to family in Canada?**
Yes, optionally. The rate must be written as a clear annual rate — including the
annual rate disclosure required by the federal Interest Act — and stay under
Canada's 35% APR criminal interest ceiling.
